with Film Director Eliaichi Kimaro

With a father from Tanzania and a mother from South Korea, Eliaichi Sadikiel Kimaro is a first-generation African-Asian-American, struggling with the issue of her identity. In A Lot Like You, she invites the viewer to accompany her on a personal journey in search of her African roots, the part of her identity with which she felt least familiar. When her parents retire and move back to Tanzania to live, she follows them with her camera. Once there, she learns how much more she has in common with her Tanzanian relatives than she ever realized. The revelation changes her life profoundly. Film director Eliaichi Kimaro will introduce and discuss her film.

In English, Swahili, and KiChagga with English subtitles.
